What' s the difference between ' Friends with benefits' and ' f*ck buddies' ?

So basically, this guy asked me to be his 'friend with benefits' and then we carried on talking, then later he said he still wants to be my 'f*ck buddy'. I was just wondering if there is a difference?

And do these relationships always turn out bad? Because I don't want to loose him as a friend. Anyone with experience or seen a relationship like this.

What is a VPN?
